On January 9th, House Bill 1266 was introduced in the MO House of Representatives. Also known as the Growler Bill will allow us to get beer in 32 – 70 oz. containers called growlers. Why is this important? Missouri has over 50 breweries, most of which do not bottle or can their product for distribution. These small craft brewers can only sell their beer in kegs for consumption away from the brewery therefore the only way we can taste their beer is by hanging out at a bar that has it on tap or buying a full keg to take home. The much smaller sized growler will give us a much needed alternative and bring MO craft beer to the masses.
I testified before the General Laws committee in favor of the bill and it has been approved for a formal vote before the entire House of Representatives.
